Walk for Change!

With summer just around the corner, we're all working toward our best beach bodies. Everyone wants to look their best while catching some rays. But, with all the chaos of the world, maybe time would be better spent giving back. How do you choose?Well, in Ocean City you don't have to! This Saturday we have two charity walks that you can take part in! The first one is Walk MS, a 5K and 1 mile walk to raise funding for research, programs, and services for people living with MS. In Maryland, Northern Virginia, and Washington DC, there are over 15,000 people diagnosed with MS. In joining this walk, you'll be helping them live their lives to the fullest. The walk starts at Jolly Roger's and goes all the way to the Boardwalk. There are rest stops along the way, as well as turn-around points. The event kicks off with breakfast and registration at 8am. Don't miss your chance to burn some calories and raise money for people in need.If you have a pet that would love to join you, then you should attend Boardwalkin' for Pets! An annual walk-a-thon run by the Worcester County Humane Society, this fundraiser benefits the Ocean City area's no-kill shelter. Bring your pet for an exciting day of walking the Boardwalk with pals! You and your animal buddy can walk whatever distance you choose, marveling at the sights and smells of the ocean. But that's not all! Refreshment are provided by Harrison's Harbor Watch Restaurant and Layton's Family Restaurant! From 8am to 12pm, you can take part in all this and all it costs is one registration fee! Leave your paw prints on Ocean City!If you don't have a pet but want to join, no worries! You can adopt a shelter dog for the day and play with them! As long as you make arrangements prior to the walk-a-thon, you'll have a furry friend to help you raise money for other furry friends!
