We did the research and came up with a list of the 4 best ice cream spots in and around OC. Check the list out for when you need to take a break from the heat and grab a cold and refreshing treat! Things we took into consideration when compiling this list include the location, atmosphere, value, and quality.
Dumser's Dairyland
Number one on the list is no other than an OC long-standing classic, Dumser's Dairyland. If you decide to grab some Dumser's, you won't have to travel very far as they have seven locations in OC. That's right 7 locations on the 9 miles stretch extending from the Intel to Delaware line! Two of the locations also serve up lunch and dinner (49th and 123rd street Coastal Highway), you can enjoy a burger and fries, and complete your meal with one of their 15 plus ice cream flavors, a Sundae, or a milkshake. I personally would try and avoid the location on 49th during the evenings as it's close to Seacrets so it can get crowded quickly.
Island Creamery
Next up on the list and my personal favorite is Island Creamery. Now, Island Creamery is located just outside of Ocean City, with the closest of its three locations in Berlin, MD. It has however been a staple on the eastern shore since 1975. If you get a chance to go to Berlin, which I highly recommend, you'll have to stop by this adorable ice cream spot. They make their all-natural premium ice cream mix from local cows in their original location on Chincoteague Island.
Vanderwende
Another eastern shore classis is Vanderwende, and lucky for us they just opened up a location just past the Delaware line, in Fenwick. The ice cream is made from their very own dairy farm cows and you can tell they pride themselves in making quality ice cream! I recommend taking the trip up Coastal Highway to the Village of Fenwick shopping center, browsing the shops, and enjoying a cone from Vanderwende's ice cream shop.
KingKone
Last, but not least is KingKone ice cream. KingKone has two locations, 69th and 143rd street Coastal Highway. They serve Hershey's ice cream and have a large variety of toppings to choose from! We are fortunate enough to be located right across the street, and the temptation to visit every day is a hard one to resist.
